(gentle music) - [Narrator] Many of us remember being taught the shortcut to copy and paste on a computer in school.
Control C to copy and control V to paste on a PC and command C to copy and command V to paste on a Mac.
But knowing that does not make it obvious how to copy and paste on your tablet or smartphone.
Those who grew up using smartphones and tablets might find those steps second nature.
But for others, it may seem less straightforward.
On those devices, you simply hold down the text you'd like to copy.
If you'd like to copy a section of the text to share a paragraph in an article, for example, hold down on a selected word in the text.
You'll see the text highlighted in blue with a blue bar on each side.
Drag the blue bars to select the text you'd like to keep.
When you lift your finger, you'll be prompted to select an option with copy appearing as one of those options.
Just tap on copy.
Then you can move to the app where you'd like to paste the text you've copied.
Tap on the spot within the message, page or email where you'd like to paste it and tap paste.
These simple steps make it easy and quick to share text with friends, family, or colleagues - [Announcer] Made possible by a grant from the West End Home Foundation Senior Trust Digital Initiative.
